Dr Grant is a consultant psychiatrist and neuro-psychiatrist. He holds degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Melbourne University, Master of Psychological Medicine from Monash University, and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He is also a member of the American Academy of Neuropsychiatry and the American Academy of Occupational Psychiatry.

Dr Grant has practiced as a liaison psychiatrist and neuro-psychiatrist at Monash Medical Centre, Alfred Hospital and at Bethlehem Hospital. Dr Grant has consulted to the NHMRC, AHPRA, Brain Foundation, Epilepsy Victoria and Victorian Doctors Health Program.

Dr Grant performs neuro-psychiatry/cognitive assessments, in addition to assessment and treatment of people with mood disorders associated with other medical/physical conditions.

Dr Grant performs medico-legal assessments on behalf of AHPRA, Dept of Education, Victorian Institute of Teaching, Victorian Doctors Health Society, Dept of Defence, Dept of Veterans Affairs, Victorian Transport Accident Commission, the Victorian Workcover Authority, Comcare and private legal firms, both plaintiff and defendant.

Dr Grant is appointed to the Victorian Workcover Medical Panels, performing assessments under the Accident Compensation Act and the Wrongs Act, including Presiding Member assessments.
